Ideate: Team The Walk

After weeks of conducting research, holding user interviews, and highlighting key insights, we decided on a final design space of digital engagement and outreach. To address our “How can we” statement, our team engaged in a brainstorming session, where we discussed our initial thoughts and ideas and grouped them into potential implementable solutions. Some ideas include designing a specific marketing campaign strategy and developing a plan to address logistical feedback from this year. Ultimately, to maximize our impact on digital outreach, we landed on a final solution of redesigning the existing website. We went through the existing website and highlighted places to improve upon, and we also deliberated over new features we could add.

In order to test our solution, we identified measures through which we could determine its success. In the short term, we hope to triple the number of website views and double the number of attendees in next year’s event. In the long term, our solution should ideally result in a 20% increase in media coverage, recruit 3 long term volunteers, and see a 50% increase in sponsorships. We also identified three primary design goals to guide our brainstorming process, which include being implementable, strategic, and engaging.

After delineating the framework for our solution, we are excited to present our work at the Mid-Semester Review this Saturday!
