Mi Familia Vota: Introduction

Tell us about your project.

Mi Familia Vota is a national civic engagement organization that unites Latino, immigrant, and allied communities to promote social and economic justice through citizenship workshops, voter registration, and voter participation. We want to help Mi Familia Vota increase student civic engagement by improving their current pledge card system.

 

Tell us about your team.

Kaarthika – Junior / Computer Science major / Sociology minor / favorite pizza topping is pineapple and jalapeño

Kelly – Sophomore / Computer Science / Spinach, onions, mushroom

Chidera – Junior / Sociology and Health Sciences / favorite pizza toppings are jalepeño, spinach, and mushrooms

Shane – Sophomore / Economics Major / Business Minor /favorite pizza is margherita pizza  

 

What are you looking forward to most as a team this year?

We’re looking forward to working with Mi Familia Vota and our wonderful CP Angie!

 

What is a challenge you expect to overcome this semester?

We are working on the problem of collecting information for Mi Familia Vota to keep potential voters engaged. We think it’ll be challenging to figure out motivates students to give their information to Mi Familia Vota.
